Slow Calculating digest on large volumes

Post by Pajje » May 27, 2016 1:02 pm

Hello all!

I'm trying to take backup of a server with three large volumes connected to it to our Veeam repository with Endpoint backup (Physical server).

The Calculating digest takes forever. I canceled the job after 14 hours. Could it be beacuse there is a large number of files and folders on the server (1.2-1.5 million files and 200k folders on each voilume)?

Is it possible to disable the digest to make the backup?

What backup mode are you using?
Is it possible to disable the digest to make the backup?
No, this is a part of the actual backup process.

Hello Dima!

I'm running "Backup of the entire computer" with Endpoint version 1.5 to a local Veeam repository (v9).

Hi Pajje,

Can you run one additional test, if possible, with throttling (at Control Panel > Settings) being disabled? Thanks.

Hi,

I showed your stats to QA team and they asked if it’s possible to submit a support case? Please post the case ID to this thread. Thanks.

Hello,

Same thing here, calculing digest taking forever. Is the throttling the problem ?
