slow copy backup - Case # 04388200
when copying a vbk file from one folder to another within the same partition (for example, disk D), the speed jumps from 10 to 15 Mbps. at the same time, if you copy ISO Image or any other large files, the average speed is 300-500mb / s. what could be the problem?

Hi Alex.
Interesting case.
- Which file system does that drive has?
- What hardware is behind that disk? like local\remote, sata\sas\fc\iscsi?
/Thanks!

File system - NTFS
This is a virtual machine on the vmvare hypervisor. at the hardware level, these are sas disks in raid6.
The same situation with backup: a full backup of 250GB to a network folder takes 6 hours and 30 minutes. average speed 14-16mb\s. Again, if you copy ISO images or movies, then the speed of copying these files over the network is 100mb\s

It will be best to run some out-of-the-product stress tests first, as most likely it is an infrastructure-related case.
Try using DiskSpd tool to see related performance metrics.
/Cheers!

so the problem is definitely not with the filesystem or hdd(raid).
can the set password affect the backup? or the copy target is set to LAN

The problem turned out to be that the files were being backed up, when I started to backup volumes and with the exclusion of folders, the backup accelerated two times. speed from 300 Mbps to 900 Mbps
