Slow network backup (Veeam Support - Case # 01816207)

- Installed Veeam Endpoint Backup on 2008 R2 STD srv.
- Created Network Share on 2012 R2
- Both servers on Gigabit switch
- Large file copy from server 2008 r2 to file share 2012 R2 goes arrond 100 MB per second.
- Configured backup the hole server but backup is running awfully slow thru network (approx. 12 MB per sec)
Please help!

Hi bostjanc,

I noticed that support team proposed to change backup job's block size. Did that help? By tthe way, if you have an antivirus running on the same machine, kindly, make sure that VEB was added to the exclusion list.

Not any antivirus apps on that machine.
We are in phase of checking which block size suits the mosts, but it variate very much either we increase or decrease that number in registry, which is strange.

If possible, test performance of the backup to local destination. Is it far better that backup to shared folder?
