Is the "SQL Server VSS Writer" service necessary for Veeam Endpoint?

We have SQL Server 2012 Express LocalDB installed, but I believe this was from Veeam Endpoint. No other SQL Server is used on this 2012 R2 Domain Controller. We are having VSS issues, and I read in other threads that disabling the "SQL Server VSS Writer" service can resolve some issues. Right now, it is set to automatic and is running.

You can disable this service (if that’s a requirement for a case resolution) and it should not affect backup job. Basically if you disable the sql vss VAW wont process it’s own database on this particular machine
