SQL truncate - removed instance now gives warning
Good Morning,
we're using windows agent while I bide my time to be able to spend some money to virtualise our last server. It's a bit of a do-all server in that it has exchange, mailmarshall, webmarshall, sophos enerprise console and a few other bits and pieces.
I found there was a SQL Express 2005 instance of Blackberry Enterprise Server which the software for was long ago uninstalled, so I have removed that instance - and now Veeam agent gives a warning:
Unable to truncate SQL server transaction logs. Details: Failed to enumerate SQL instance on host. Failed to retrieve the configuration parameters of the [BAS-AS] service. Win32 error:The system cannot find the file specified. Code: 2
Any idea how I can stop Veeam trying to talk to this instance without breaking the other EIGHT instances? I presume I can remove the backup config and build a new one but would prefer not to if possible.
thanks

Hi Richard,
Can you run an active full backup for this server and check if this warning persists? Thanks!

Hi Dima, I did a standalone one and that didn't do anything (before starting thread), trying an active full now.

Hi Dima,
I had to open a ticket by phone - the support portal would accept the support ID but I can't link it to my login to be able to start a ticket. Foolishly I forgot to ask for the ticket number...

I've had to start a new one (02270706) as they couldn't find yesterdays - he's connected up now.
edit: it's actually looking like the SQL instance may not have uninstalled fully.

Thanks - it's a bit strange as the service for the SQL shows up as failed (managed to miss that) but it doesn't show up in the SQL management kit. No errors when it was uninstalled.

A reboot after whatever the engineer did seems to have cleared it - I tried keeping up with what he was doing but too fast for my eyes!
