Stand Alone Windows Agent options for remote backup

Post by jcofin13 »

If you have a windows workstation that needs backed up and you want to back it up locally and do so to a usb drive, how can you then get that backup offsite as well? Seems like a bit of a dumb question but im going to ask it anyway.

Right now the licensed agent doesnt support backup copy jobs in stand alone mode nor does it support more than one backup job or backup destination.

You can backup locally or you can back up to object storage but you cant do both.

Right now the only option i can think of is to run the backup to usb, then copy those back files to somewhere else every time after the backup runs in order to have your backups in 2 different spots.

Are those my only options?

I just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious.

Hello jcofin13,

Correct — you need a license to run multiple jobs.

That sounds right. Additionally, you can use a Veeam B&R repository as the destination even for an unmanaged standalone agent and then use a backup copy job to move the data elsewhere afterward. Thank you!

I have a license. It only allows for 1 job. Its an agent license.
There is no VBR server.

Thanks for the feedback/confirmation.
