Hi to all, recently i need to restore some files from a VEB backup.
During the mount phase i got an error (not sure about the exact text, i haven't take a screenshot) like: the system cannot create the temp file c:.....bla bla\something.tmp
Anyway, after some investigations i found the problem.
On that machine the system temp folder was:"c:\windows\temp\1" and i accidentally deleted the last folder (leaving only "c:\windows\temp")
So VEB was trying to write on a folder that didn't exists.
i know it is not a VEB issue, but it would be great if at some time (during the main window opening or prior to start a restore job) VEB could do this 2 simple checks:
1) Check if the system temp folder exists.
If no, display a clear warning: The system temp folder "c:\bla bla " is non present on the disk. Please check your environment.
2) check if the system temp folder is writable.
If no, display a clear warning: The system temp folder is present but not writable from the Veeam service (and from the current user?). Please check your file system permission.
Best regards
MAX
