Task Manger crashing after Restore
I am reaching out to the community because I have an odd issue that has happened on a couple of different computers since a restore was completed to move a user to new hardware. On a couple of the computers we are noticing that task manager crashes with the following error in the event log.
Faulting application name: taskmgr.exe, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce79737
Faulting module name: taskmgr.exe, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce79737
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000000000000d2b1
Faulting process id: 0x1e98
Faulting application start time: 0x01d111c3bf7b5b6c
Faulting application path: C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe
Report Id: fd3eb8ae-7db6-11e5-a59f-f8b156e33809
This happens in safe mode, diagnostic boot, and under other users on the computer. Has any one seen this happen before? If so how did you fix it?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Not as of yet. I wanted to reach out to the community first. I was not able to find anything in the KB articles on the support page though.

I know that VEB is a free product. If I call into support is there a charge? If not what do I say? Do I need to give them any specific information?

Hello Cody,
While you will not be able to use the support phone, you can submit a support ticket from Veeam Endpoint Backup (double-click the icon in your system tray) > Support > Technical Support. The software will collect the logs automatically and create a support case. Our technician will be in touch with you once they can.
Kind regards,
Alexey

We do provide support for Veeam Endpoint Backup for free, just with no SLA and based on staff availability.
