There's more restore points in VBR than Agent is configured to keep
Hello forum
I've been using Veeam Agent for some time but just recentIly decided to install VBR 9.5 U4 on my server.
In the Agent on my PC I've configured it to store 14 restore points on the backup repository managed by VBR, but when viewing the job details on the VBR-server, it seems that 18 restore points are saved.
Why is this the case ?
There's probably something I am not aware of...

Thanks in advance.

This is just how incremental backup works... incremental backups are dependent on previous backups in chain.

You are probably using Forward Incremental backup method with periodically (synthetic or active) full backups.
Since all incremental backups are dependent as Gostev pointed out, the amount of restore points to keep you configured is the bare minimum.
Veeam B&R will start deleting restore points once a full cycle can be removed with still 14 points remaining.
