You can download the install directly from the website and run the installer on top of the existing version. It will detect and upgrade.
I did not have to reboot any of my Servers or Client machines. The only warning I received was on a Hyper-V cluster node that the driver can cause CSV degradation so I rebooted those but standard servers and clients did not require a reboot.

Ryan is right. Right now, the manual update procedure is supported – just download the setup file from the website and run the setup. It should update you existing version keeping all the backup history in place.

Marc, Did you have any outstanding windows updates or other installs that required a reboot? I know if updates are pending a reboot the installer will fail until the reboot is resolved. Did you catch a screenshot of the error?
