Update VEB to 1.5
Now that VEB 1.5 is officially released... how do I update? Is it as easy as updating VBR? Just install over the old version? Does it require a reboot of the client?

Re: Update VEB 1.5
You can download the install directly from the website and run the installer on top of the existing version. It will detect and upgrade.
I did not have to reboot any of my Servers or Client machines. The only warning I received was on a Hyper-V cluster node that the driver can cause CSV degradation so I rebooted those but standard servers and clients did not require a reboot.
Cheers!

Hello Patrick,
Ryan is right. Right now, the manual update procedure is supported – just download the setup file from the website and run the setup. It should update you existing version keeping all the backup history in place.

On the system I tried it on, I had to reboot before running the install. Before that the install was failing with an MSI error. It was fine after the reboot.

Marc,
Did you have any outstanding windows updates or other installs that required a reboot? I know if updates are pending a reboot the installer will fail until the reboot is resolved. Did you catch a screenshot of the error?

Re: Update VEB to 1.5
True story. Setup checks the operating system is not sitting in ‘pending for reboot’ state and may ask to reboot if its required by OS.
