Hi Expert,
Can I check with you what is the compression ratio that can achieve for BYOS installed-mssql server?
And I think using agent to backup, it should be transparent even for managed disk encryption are enabled for both OS and data disk, correct me if I am wrong.
Thank you in advanced for your guidance.

Re: Use VAW to backup AzureVM managed disk encryption
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
The compression ratio is higher the more SQL data you have in relation to "other data". I don't see a realistic option to predict it for you, but you can just install the agent and back up directly to Azure blob and see how much space it consumes.
Yes, the Azure disk encryption is irrelevant for an agent because it runs inside the operating system.
Best regards,
Hannes
