User file level restores asking for admin credentials
I have the endpoint set to use a service account for backing up to a Data Domain. When the user tries to restore a file with their non-admin account they get a pop-up asking for admin credentials. What is the configuration setting so the user can restore their files on their own?

Re: User file level restores asking for admin credentials
Hello Daniel_L,
Data Domain is a VBR repository (in terms of VEB backup destinations), right?

Re: User file level restores asking for admin credentials
Hi Dima,
Correct, the EMC Data Domain is the destination for the backups. The service account has full access to the share. For testing I gave the users read access and they still get asked for admin credentials.

Daniel_L,
I mean are you backup to DataDomain directly via shared folder destination of the VEB or you use Veeam Backup and Replication in conjunction with DataDomain set as a repository?

Hi Dima,
Veeam is new to me so please forgive me if I am not explaining things correctly. The Data Domain was configured to be the repository in the Veeam Backup & Replication. I pointed it to the CIFS Share. Hopefully I explained it right.

Thanks ok - thanks! Can you check that the said user account can copy/paste some file to/from the said share via regular browser?

Re: User file level restores asking for admin credentials
Hi Dima,
The user is able to copy/past a file over to the share. When the user tries to restore a file through the endpoint they are asked for their credentials and then a message saying"This action requires elevated privileges". We are part way there, how I get the user to restore files without elevated privileges?

Unfortunately, if the permissions are correct - not much I can do from my end. Kindly, try reaching out support team - you can open a case directly from VEB Control Panel > Support.

Re: User file level restores asking for admin credentials
Hi Dima,
How long does it take to upload the log files? It has been spinning for the last 15 hours. there is no other way to create a support request without uploading log files. As for me, the uploading of log files process does not work.
