VAW 2.0.0.700 and Windows 10 Fall Creator Update

Post by Fred_vBrain »

Hi all,

AFAIK this version is not supported for Windows 10 Fall Creator update right? Have some VSS troubles and a partition which shows up after the update. Unfortunately I was forced to do the update.
Any info when 2.1 will be released?

Thanks.
Fred

Literary around the corner. Creators Update is not officially supported – that is true. However, if you face any issues please open a support case, I believe we already have solutions for previously reported issues. Cheers!

Hi all,

I think I have figured out few things. My PC was running Windows 7 initially. After that upgrade to Windows 10 1511 -> 1607 -> 1703 and finally 1709. As far as I can tell M$ had done a min of 2 changes to the partition layout of the C drive between the updates. In 1703 the boot partition was shown as EFI System Partition, now in 1709 as \\?\volume etc. I think VAW has a wrong entry in the DB. currently I try to evaluate my thesis! :)

@dheiji was it a clean installation or an upgrade from W7/W8?

Thanks all.
Fred

Looks similar to my home setup. I recreated VAW database, backed up all the MS Recovery partitions and then nuked them (keep in mind that this in not recommended and can be performed only if you backed up the entire computer. For example, you may lose warranty if vendor partition is removed).

As promised, Veeam Agent for Windows 2.1 with official support for Fall Creators Update is out. You can download it form our website. Auto updates from Control Panel, traditionally, will become available later.
