VAW and DELLEMC DD:Synthetic Fulls-Feature Enahance Request
Hi Veeam Team,
We have a File Server of approximately 15 TB in size and would like to use VAW 2.0 for backing it up to VBR Server to Data Domain(DDBOOST enabled) backup Repository.
Is it possible to add weekly Synthetic Fulls as we have it for VMware Backups so that weekly Active full backups is not required which ultimately eliminates the load on production server.
Thanks
Mohammed Abbas

Hi Mohammed.Abbas,
Glad to say that synthetic full backups are supported starting from v2. You can test this functionally even now in the existing VAW 2.0 Beta code.

Hi,
That is Cool. But I do not see that when I used the beta version.
Can you send me the screen shot of where(which tab) it is located.

Hi,
Any paid edition works (make sure you have a license installed at Control Panel > About). Synthetic full can be configured at storage step under advanced button. Check this article

Thank you!
Is there a WAN Accelarator also gets integrated? If I have a File Server in remote location then Is there a way to speed up the processing rate?
Thanks
Mohammed Abbas

VBR’s WAN accelerator works with agent backups since v1. You just need to configure a backup copy job with agent backup as a source. Keep in mind that proper VBR license is required.
