VAW backups of Azure VM's to Azure B&R

Post by jcasteel »

I have several Azure VM's and would like to use VAW to back them up. I'm thinking of spinning up a VM, attaching storage and installing B&R and then pointing all of my VAfW's at the B&R server. Any reasons this wouldn't be viable or gotchas that anyone with experience can warn me of? Thanks!

We have multiple customers in Azure doing this. The only thing you may need to watch out for is hitting the file limit within Azure (4TB if I'm correct).

Thanks for the reply. Can you control that file size?

The 4TB limit is the data disk limit by Microsoft (will go up to 8TB and 16TB which they announced at the beginning of the year). If you don't have servers bigger then 4TB to backup there you should be fine.
