VAW, VBR Repository and Proxy
Hello there,
Here's my issue :
The context : 2 distant sites, A and B( MPLS between sites). VBR 9.5u2 on site A. VAW on site B.
I want to backup my computer which is on site B on a NAS which is also on site B. The NAS is known as a repository by my site A VBR.
Configuration is ok, but when I backup, it looks like files transit through the MPLS.
Is there a way, without Veeam proxy, to make the files go directly to the NAS through the LAN ?
Thank you

Hi Paco,
In Veeam B&R console you must specify a gateway server located at site B. Then traffic wont flow via Veeam B&R server (which, I assume, is set to be a default gateway for you NAS now).

Ok, but there are multiple distant sites with the same configuration
And no, the server VBR is not set as the gateway on the NAS.

Re: VAW, VBR Repository and Proxy
Thanks for the clarification. Where gateway server is located? At site A?

I'm not even sure the NAS has a Gateway. But if it has one, yes, it's on site A

Re: VAW, VBR Repository and Proxy
Please double check your repository properties:
If NAS was added to the Veeam B&R as a shared folder repository and you want to run a direct backup from agent to this NAS gateway server should be located on the site B (close to your NAS and Veeam Agent for Windows).

Re: VAW, VBR Repository and Proxy
I might be wrong, but as I understand, we need to add servers (1 per site) in the VBR Console, to use them as gateway servers for the repositories.
But there's no server on distant sites. Is there a way to do what I need ?
