Veam 2.2.0.589 Free Edition Won't Start- Gives Error.

We have been trying the Veeam version to learn more about it and become familiar with this software so we can start recommending it with out clients. I am currently having an issue with the Veeam client not running at all, and when running a manual backup it fails. The only way to see any information is to look at the log file.

I have attached the log file from when I manually try to run this backup-command.

Hello Jason,

Please try to install the latest Veeam Agent for Windows v3 from scratch. In order to do that uninstall Veeam Agent for Windows v2.2 via Add or Remove programs, download latest Veeam Agent for Windows v3 and re run the installer. Let us know how it goes, cheers!

Is the 3.0 Version free to use like 2.20.589 ? Does it expire or is it the same but newer ?

Free to use without license (same approach as in v2.2)
Does it expire or is it the same but newer ?
New is always better :wink: With v3 backup from USB drives, network throttling rules, latest platform support and more enhancements/fixes are available in free edition.

Sorry to hear that. Is it possible to submit a case via Veeam Agent for Windows Control Panel > Support > Technical support (it's free). Once done can you please share the case ID it this thread? Thank you!

Dima, Just wanted to let you now after rebooting the server it is now backing up and has no issues :) thank you for all the help ! Recommending Veeam for their awesome support.

Hi Dima,

I am facing same issue. I have installed lastest veeam agent on Vmware virtual machine which has windows server 2012 R2 version and veeam agent works for 1 week probably and then it gives error
Veeam Cannot start session id{.......................} timeout{.............}.
If i restart the server, veeam agent works very well for few days(probably for 1 week). Reason for using Veeam agent is due to bitlocker encryption on server drive. We are doing backup through Veeam B&R as well but due to bitlocker encryption we cannot do file level restore. I am not sure if this is possible in 4b update.

We are facing exactly the same issue.. Veeam Cannot start session id{.......................} timeout{.............}.

It works after a restart for about 1 week, and then it stops again.

@govi Did you receive any reply from Veeam support?

yes, I received some fix from Veeam and I tried it. It worked very well for 15 days and today i checked it again and issue has appeared again. I will open new case since existing case is closed

May you be can try solution which was proposed by Veeam, it might work for you.
