VEB to protect a Veeam B&R physical server

Hello guys,

an existing Veeam B&R small business customer currently uses a physical Windows server (left behind as a result of the virtualization project) as the Veeam backup server. We have also turned this physical Windows server into a fax server, so I would like to configure data protection for the Veeam backup server and for fax server data and configuration.

Is there is there any downside for installing and using Veeam B&R and Veeam Endpoint Backup on the same physical server ? Mi idea is to perform a volume-level backup to backup all volumes except the volume containing Veeam B&R repository.

Hi Massimiliano,
Please, stay away of putting Endpoint with the existing VBR – it may harm your existing configuration. Having both on one machine will be possible with GA version of Endpoint. In addition, you will need to patch to the existing VBR with upcoming update.

Hello Massimiliano,
By the way you can test the newly release RC + VBR patch2. The configuration you’ve asked before should be working properly. Keep in mind that no update to RTM will be provided, so better test in in non-production environment.
