Veeam Agent - B&R integration
Hello,
I upgraded our Veeam B&R to the latest 9.5 U4 version yesterday.
I've two Veeam Agent 3.0 license server version and I'm planning to configure two individually backup jobs managed by Veeam B&R server.
What steps do I have to do?
I've tried to read the documentation but I've found it a little bit confusing..
Thank you
Marco

Hi Marco,
Have you had a chance to read our Agent Management guide?
On the high level, the process looks like that:
1. Upload licenses using B&R UI;
2. Create a protection group(s);
3. Deploy Agents;
4. Create Jobs;
5. Enjoy!
Regards,
Fedor

Re: Veeam Agent - B&R integration
Hi Fedor,
unfortunately when I try to install the license using B&R UI I receive the error "invalid license"..do I have to open a ticket?
Another question: I already have two free agent backup jobs configured before the Veeam B&R upgrade..it could be a problem when we'll switch to license mode?
Thanks
Marco

Well, U4 requires a new instance-based license that can be downloaded from our licensing portal. As for the jobs, I would recommend creating new ones after configuring the protection group (they will override the existing jobs).
Also, I definitely recommend you to take a look at the discussion here to get more info on the new licensing.
BR,
Fedor

Re: Veeam Agent - B&R integration
You can 'migrate' existing free agents to managed agents. Under protection groups find the Unmanaged predefined protection group, right click the desired host, select 'move to' and choose the custom protection group. This action will let Veeam B&R know that this agent is now managed (keep in mind that it wont be possible to map the existing backup file or reuse standalone agent job configuration both should be created from scratch). Cheers!I already have two free agent backup jobs configured before the Veeam B&R upgrade..it could be a problem when we'll switch to license mode?
