Veeam Agent License

Post by packergeek »

I have a question about Veeam Agent license.

I have the Veeam Agent installed on a couple customer computers. I have it send me an email to let me know if the backups fail. I charge them a monthly service charge to monitor the computers and the backup. I need to know if this is violating any kind of agreement with Veeam please?

You will need a rental license for that. Or let the customer buy a VUL license

You are forbidden to offer services with the free agent.
Let me find the article in the enduser agreement.

https://www.veeam.com/eula.html
5.0 Free Licenses and Community Licenses. Free and Community License products can be used in your own production environment in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement. You may not use the Free and Community Licenses to provide services to third parties or to process third party data.

Hello Jackie,

Mildur is actually right - free edition is designed for personal use only. If you want to use Veeam Agent for Windows as an application to provide service to your customers you must have a valid paid license (for the scenario you've described rental license is the best). Cheers!
