Veeam Agent Security Certification

Post by praveenlua »

One of the customer in India would like to understand the security aspect of the Veeam Agent for Windows and management console to provide it to their security team. This is to establish that the agents are safe to be installed on end user devices. Kindly provide any documentation or link that establishes the same. Thank you.

Hello,
and welcome to the forums.

Can you maybe explain what your customer considers as "safe"? Does it help if US government agencies use Veeam? https://www.veeamgov.com/

For Veeam Backup and Replication (the agents are part of VBR) there is FIPS compliance. https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110

VBR encryption standards are listed here https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110 and for the Veeam Agent for Windows it's mentioned here https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=50

Best regards,
Hannes

Hi Hannes,

This really helps. Customer is only looking to understand if the agent doesn't have any vulnerabilities. Currently they are looking at documentation.

What you provided should help us in addressing the queries.

Thank you.
