Veeam Agent use credentials of computer to backup
Hi,
Veeam Agent 3.0.2.1170
Windows Server 2016
When Veeam Agent backup to NAS (shared folder - standalone) he tries to use credentials of computer (HYPER-V3$). Is that normal behaviour?
Failtoban automatically ban failed login.

Hello,
Yes in case you have not set a specific account under shared folder step of the backup job wizard to access your file share. Cheers! When Veeam Agent backup to NAS (shared folder - standalone) he tries to use credentials of computer (HYPER-V3$). Is that normal behaviour?

I have specified account "veeam" (local NAS user).
But Veeam still try HYPER-V3$ and veeam. (screenshot)

Re: Veeam Agent use credentials of computer to backup
Thanks for clarification. Based on the mentioned setup Veeam Agent for Windows should use only the specified account. Any chance you've started file level recovery from this machine after the backup file has been created? Cheers!

Thanks. I've asked QA to check this behavior, meanwhile if you notice the local system account being used again - please raise a support case and share the case ID. Cheers!

Re: Veeam Agent use credentials of computer to backup
Hi. I have the same problem. How did you solve this?
- Server 2016 IP gets blocked on QNAP any time the backup starts, although the backup job is eventually done but not in the intended time
- QNAP is not part of domain, that's why I use veeam, to keep it separate because of ransomware and accessible only by a dedicated account
- yet the veeam agent besides the dedicated account is connection also with the SERVERNAME$ username (system account)
Reinstallation of the agent does not help.

Borut,
Can you please raise a support case? Last time we were unable to reproduce the mentioned issue, so we do not have a workaround to share (and still need more intel). Once done - please share the support case with us. Cheer!
