I need help about my backup pls.
My backup take really too much time and i would like to know what i'm doing wrong pls.
Here is a picture :
It took 10 Hours to backup 1To (2 disks : 500Gb+500Gb) on an external drive (3,63To total space with 2,7 free space)
I edited the job to backup everyday at 8pm.
Can someone tell me what to do pls?

Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
The problem is the performance of your backup device. the 3:59h "file merge". What happens there is shown in
https://www.veeam.com/kb1932 the Forever Forward Incremental section animation.
There are two options:
1) get a faster backup device
2) switch to active full backup "create active full backups periodically"
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=50
3) format your backup device with REFS (tricky with Windows 10 and unsupported on USB drives).
https://www.veeam.com/blog/advanced-ref ... suite.html describes the REFS "trick"
Best regards,
Hannes

Thank you for your fast answer.
The 2nd option seems to be the best in my situation.
If i do a full backup, will it last 10 hours again pls? or can i expect like 1 or 2 hours max?

It depends mostly on how your external drive is connected to your pc.
Usb3 will be fast. Usb2 will be slow and painful for a 700GB-1TB Data.
Usb3 could be around 1-3 hours.
Usb2 could be around 9-12 hours.
