Veeam backup with password encrypt is not working

Hi All,

I am using the Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 5.0.0.4301 Free Edition. I have successfully run the full backup job, password encrypt is enabled and password had been entered in setting.

When I restore a file from the job , it do not need the enter the password for decryption. And I can open the restored file successfully.

May I know the issue?

As far as I see, it's working fine. Did you try restoring your encrypted backup with a different machine?

Encryption password is stored in the current installation of your Veeam Agent for Windows, so whenever you are using in-house recovery for a backup created with this agent it wont ask you to type in the password. As Hannes mentioned you can perform a test and open backup made from one machine with another Windows agent installation, in such case the password will be required prior any recovery.
