Veeam Database Error: SQL2014 vs SQL2012

Post by rsardinha »

Hi,
I’m trying to use Veeam Agent in a PC with SQL 2014 already installed and I know that Veeam uses the SQL 2012 local DB. Starting the agent service I get the error:
“The database 'VeeamBackup' cannot be opened because it is version 782. This server supports version 706 and earlier”

Is it possible to use Veeam Agent in a PC with another version of SQL? How can I set the SQL version for Veeam to use?

Thank you for the support.

Rafael

Hi Rafael,

those two should coexist just fine by default, but something has bumped a Veeam agent DB version up.
Try reinstalling agent from the scratch and if it won't work, toss a support ticket as it clearly requires support guidance.

/Thanks!

Hi,
reinstalling the agent from scratch didn't solve the problem.
I found the article https://www.veeam.com/kb2335 and it did the trick.

Thanks.
