Veeam End Point can take backup for Oracle?

Post by mostafamonier »

Dear Veeam Support Team,
kindly i need to confirm the backup for Oracle .

I have two VMs on VMware with RDM disks clustered and iSCSI bus sharing enabled. for that I used Veeam End Point to backup the full VMs.

But in Oracle Explorer I cannot see any Oracle DB.

I notice as the Product mention in this link https://www.veeam.com/pdf/datasheet/vee ... eet_en.pdf

does not include Oracle, any plan for it if not available for this version?

regards,

Hi Mostafa,

Currently, we do not have any Oracle-specific logic implemented, but we are going to match the functionality (similar to what we have for B&R) for this in our upcoming major release. Please take a look at the Veeam Agent for Windows recorded breakout session for more info > https://go.veeam.com/launch-event

Thanks!

Since you have iSCSI bus sharing enabled for VMs, then it is not possible to use Veeam B&R to back up these VMs (snapshots are restricted for this configuration by VMware), so, unfortunately, I cannot advise on anything else other than re-configuring your VMs.
