Dear all,
since a few days the Veeam Endpoint Backup does not work without local admin rights on our Windows machines (Win 10 + 7)
We get an error message like:
"Failed to enumerate installed disks and volumes. Unbale to find any live non-snapshot volume. Failed to check wether volume
\\?\Volume[xxx]..... is CSV
Win32 error:Access is denied
Code5
If the User get local admin rights it is working. This is a problem because I can't give all users these rights.
When we started to roll out Veeam Endpoint Backup we did not have that problem.
Any idears? Maybe a change in a Windows Update KB?
THX
Daniel

Re: Veeam Endpoint Backup "Configure Backup" admin rights?
Hello Daniel,
Indeed, there might be an issue with UAC not properly requesting the elevated access in early versions. Right now, all VEB wizards should request for administrative account.
You should be able to configure VEB using administrator's account and then switch back to regular end user account. As a result, end user cant modify backup job and cant change the job’s setup.
