Veeam Endpoint Backup installed on VBR

Installed on our physical Veeam B&R server to back it up, VSS failed message. I uninstalled because I did not want issues.

Sorry you had issues, but any chance you kept the log files, the VSS error message, anything? If so, can you post it? Did you open a case?

I definitely agree with you not wanting to have issues and always risks with using a BETA on a production box, but any more info you can offer would be a huge help for Veeam Support!

Installing Endpoint on the VBR machine is not recommended during BETA and will be supported only in GA release.

For my own curiosity, what is the story with this anyway? I will be using a physical Veeam server soon myself (b/c of tape backup) and what is going on behind the scenes that is causing this to fail? I was hoping to use the GA release on my (new) physical server.

Some components may interfere with each other and must be properly tuned both in Endpoint and in VBR, but as I’ve said we will bring the opportunity to install Endpoint together with VBR in GA.
