Veeam Recovery Media with Intel I219-V Gigabit Ethernet
Hi!
Can somebody please enlighten me why is this still a thing?:
https://www.veeam.com/kb2133
"As a workaround, you can restore from backups on a local storage or, alternatively, try using a different network adapter." Use a local storage, or use a different adapter? Really?
I just got a new computer with Intel Ethernet Connection I219-V NIC, created a backup to a NAS, used the recovery media to verify it is working, and realized, there's no network connection in recovery media...
Though I managed to make it work by first downloading the Intel Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack from Intel, here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/produc ... ion-I219-V
Then copied the complete "PRO1000\Winx64" folder to the recovery media, and manually chose the NDIS62\e1d62x64.inf to load the driver from after booting into the recovery media.
When creating the recovery media if I chose the same folder to use the driver at creation time there still was no network when booting into the recovery, only when I choose to load it manually there.

Re: Veeam Recovery Media with Intel I219-V Gigabit Ethernet
Hello and welcome to the community dexterid,
Unfortunately this driver cannot be collected by our recovery media from the operating system (according to QA it's not possible due to driver design), so the described workaround remains valid. Thanks!

You could try using a USB NIC adapter.
