Warning message "disk space low" every time backup runs

This appears to be recent behavior. Backup target is a shared network drive. Both client and target are running Windows 10 Pro, most recent build. The empty space on the backup target is 5.7TB (Yes - Tera Bytes!), and this is enough for the next 4000 backups by my rough calculation . What's going on??

I solved the problem by adjusting the "free space" threshold. I had not changed it even though the backup space available had become dramatically larger. (The repository is now on a Drivepool array and is 60TB!).
