Windows 10 21H1 is out today
Hi guys,
I see that Veeam Agent for Windows version 5.0.0.4301 is now available today through the GUI and it says it supports Windows 10 20H2.
Do we have an ETA for when the next version of Veeam Agent for Windows will arrive with support for Windows 10 21H1?
Do we know if there are any compatibility issues so far?

Re: Windows 10 21H1 is out today
Hi, Alex
Same answer as always: our goal remains to support new platform releases within 90 days of their GA date.
As for compatibility issues, they will be known after the full regression testing of the GA code completes. The only thing we do know already is that Veeam Backup & Replication 11 will refuse to manage agents on Windows 10 21H1 machines without the latest cumulative patch P20210507.
Thanks!

Thanks Gostev,
I assume you mean Veeam Backup & Replication v11? I saw your email two days ago about 11.0.0.837 P20210507 being out now, is that the patch you mean?
Sorry for all the questions, we are still on version 10 but will start upgrading sometime in the next couple of months and I want to know where the potholes are before I run into them

Hi Alex
Yes this Patch. For official Support, you have to wait for Veeam V11a. From the Patch release Notes:

Various product functionality should no longer outright refuse to work with pre-release builds of Windows 10 21H1 and Windows Server 2022 builds and will instead attempt to process them using the existing logic created for previous OS versions. This change does not constitute the official support for these platforms, which is planned for version 11a.

Re: Windows 10 21H1 is out today
Hi folks,
The patch works for Veeam B&R and all managed agents, so it cant be applied to an agent running as standalone deployment. The compatibility with 21H1 for a standalone agent will be provided in the upcoming 5.0.1 which will be released together with Veeam B&R 11a.
In addition we plan to provide backwards compatibility with all long-term Windows releases (Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB / Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB / Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019) and allow agent installation to any upcoming Windows 10 insider build.
