Windows Agent to backup Veeam Physical Server
This may be a dumb question.
Is there any reason I cannot use a windows agent to back up the C drive and system state of a windows physical Server that is acting as a veeam repository and proxy ?
Are folks doing this. ?
Cheers
Steve

This should be fine!
A bit of history (but now sorted), there used to be logic issues on which product would handle the .VBK if like double-clicked or such. That's been fixed, and even cleaner because you are only using it as a repo and proxy.
Double-up the Veeam away Steven!

Been doing that for quite a while, no special issues with that.

Hi Steve,
This approach is used by many customers even to protect the Backup server itself, so you are good to go! Thanks!

Thanks folks appreciate the feedback.
The main backup Server has only the Veeam database and mgmt. is done from it and is a VM so I can replicate it to the secondary datacenter and power it up in the case of Disaster at primary DC.

Moreover, you can schedule Configuration backup on a regular basis (it's recommended approach), prepare Veeam backup server at the DR site and in case of disaster all you need is just import the config. Thanks!
