adding the following features to Veeam Agent

Post by idcsan »

Hi,
Would you please consider adding the following features to Veeam Agent?

[Request for addition to Veeam Agent for AIX/RHEL/Solaris]
1. Backup support for VxVM managed areas
2. Backup support for GDS managed areas (case id : 07767967)
3. Restore sparse files as sparse rather than non-sparse
4. Support for VxFS file systems (case id : 07737523)
5. Support for extended attributes and ACLs

Additionally, if enhancements 1 through 5 above are difficult, would you consider supporting raw device backup/restore?

If this functionality is possible, could you please let me know when you expect it to be available?

Regards,
Azusa

Hi Azusa,
Welcome to the forum!

Your feature requests for our Veeam Agents have been noted for review.
Please note that we can't provide a timeline for when these features might be available in the product.

Regarding your request for raw device backup and restore, could you provide a bit more detail—for example,
what types of devices you're working with and what your expectations are for the restore process?

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.
I submitted a request because I believe that if raw device backup is supported, it will be possible to back up and restore without relying on the file system or extended ACL functions.

Regards,
Azusa
