Backup Centos 6.0 (kernel 2.6.32 ) with Veeam
Case #05585253
Hello,
I installed Veeam Backup and Replication 11.
Is there any possibility to back up a Centos 6.0 with kernel version 2.6.32-754.2.1.el6.x86_64.debug
If so, what is the agent version that I could use?
Thank you!

Re: Backup Centos 6.0 (kernel 2.6.32 ) with Veeam
Hi Ionut
Veeam Agent for Linux 5.* doesn't support CentOS 6.0. But you can use Veeam Agent for Linux 4.* to protect CentOS 6.0 . This Agent version is also supported in combination with Veeam Backup & Replication V11 and V11a.
We also have documented the kernel and OS combinations for RHEL/CentOS:
https://www.veeam.com/kb2804
CentOS 6.0 is end of life since 2020. I recommend to update your server as soon as possible to a supported linxux version.
Our next release Veeam V12 most likely not be supported as a backup repository for Veeam Agent for Linux V4.0.
Thanks
Fabian

Re: Backup Centos 6.0 (kernel 2.6.32 ) with Veeam
Hi Fabian,
Thanks for your answer.
I installed manually Veeam Agent for Linux 4, I tested with VBR 11 and VBR10 and I receive the following error:
"Failed to load module [veeamsnap] with parameters [zerosnapdata=1 debuglogging=0 snapstore_block_size_pow=14 change_tracking_block_size_pow=18 logdir=/var/log/veeam fixflags=0 logmaxsize=15728640]"
Thanks for your answer.

Ah yes. Case number is in the first post.
Please keep working with our support then.
As support also confirmed, Agent 4.0 does support CentOS 6.0 and should work.
Thanks
Fabian
