Backup repository is getting low on free disk space (Linux)

Post by maiquelbf »

Hello,

I have SAP Backup set up for Linux servers (not VMs) that have the message "Backup repository is getting low on free disk space (1.3 TB free of 14.0 TB total)".

I want to change the threshold to 5%, but the setting "Warn me when free disk space is below: 5%" is not working.

For Windows I found the registry key below to be configured on the client:

"HKLM\Software\Veeam\Veeam Endpoint Backup\"
DWORD
BackupRepositoryFreeSpaceThresholdPercent
Source: veeam-agent-for-windows-f33/backup-repo ... ml#p154444

What configuration should I do on Linux servers?

Hi,

Is your Veeam Agent for Linux managed by VBR server, or is it a standalone installation?
What do you use as a repository? VBR repostiory, or just a shared folder/disk attached to the linux machine?

Thanks!

Hi PTide,

I use Veeam Plug-in for SAP HANA.

I found the solution in the official documentation:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
For Veeam Plug-in backups, the warning which indicates that free space on a storage device has reached a specified threshold is configured in the veeam_config.xml file of Veeam Plug-in. The warning settings in the Veeam Backup & Replication console does not affect this setting.
To configure the warning settings, add the following parameter in the /opt/veeam/VeeamPluginforSAPHANA/veeam_config.xml file.

Code: Select all

<PluginParameters repositoryFreeSpacePercentWarning="5" />
I tested it and it worked perfectly.

Hope this topic helps someone in the future.
