Hello,
Is it possible to use local windows repository credentials with the Veeam Linux Agent?
I'm wanting to follow the Veeam repository hardening guide and remove windows servers holding repositories from the domain. Meaning I need my new Veeam Linux Agent job to use local credentials rather than domain credentials. I keep receiving an error:
Authentication error. Hresult: 0x8009030c. Logon attempt failed: incorrect credentials.
Unable to perform NTLM authentication.
Failed to authenticate on backup server
I have set a repository to Allow All in B&R and given the local user on the Windows repository server local admin rights and access to the new repository.
This works fine if I switch to a domain account (the veeam environment is still on the domain at this stage).
Is it actually possibly to the Veeam Linux Agent to use local windows credentials ? In all the Veeam doco I've read it's always domain credentials being used.
Case #04692361
Thanks

Re: Can the Linux Agent using local windows repository credentials?
If you have a vbr server with managed linux agents, your Linux veeam agent doesn‘t need credentials to access the linux hardened Repository or windows repo.
For Linux Application-Aware Processing, you have to configure linux credentials.

By managed do you mean licensed? Or agents pushed out from B&R?
I've just installed the free Linux agent manually on the Linux machine.

Re: Can the Linux Agent using local windows repository credentials?
I do not use free agent because I‘m not allowed to use it for offering serviced to our customers. I only know about the managed scenario with licensed agents, pushed out and managed by vbr.
I‘l try to help you.
For free agent, there are two scenarios to use a windows Server Repo.
Using SMB Share:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=50
Using VBR Backup Repo:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=50
Because you are using VBR Repo, try to add the vbr repo with your local host name at the parameter „domain“:
Example:
user@srv01:~$ veeamconfig vbrserver add --name vbr01 --address 172.17.53.1 --port 10006 --login veeam --domain hostnamefromvbr --password P@ssw0rd
