Configure a VLAN ID for Bare Metal Restore?
Still not supported?
Is there a workaround possible, e.g. manually creating additional interfaces with vlan id
(like: name.vlid, eth0.15)?

Re: Configure a VLAN ID for Bare Metal Restore?
Hi Dima,
We are trying to restore a backup of physical Linux servers (CentOS/RHEL) that use tagged vlans on the network interfaces.
Without the possibility to assign a vlan id to a network interface, it's not possible to connect to the repository server
where the backup files are located.
Of course I could ask the network administrators to temporarily remove the vlan tagging from the switch port,
but that is not what you want to do if a quick restore is needed.

Pieter,
Thanks for the clarification! Let me ask Linux folks to check if there is such functionality in Linux recovery media (I was under impression that you are referring to Windows RE, since that's Veeam Agent for Windows subforum). Stay tuned.

Re: Configure a VLAN ID for Bare Metal Restore?
Hi,
In Recovery Media you can drop to CLI where all standard linux tools are available including "ip" utility which can be used to configure vlan.
Thanks!

Re: Configure a VLAN ID for Bare Metal Restore?
Hi PTide and Dima,
I succeeded in adding a virtual network interface with vlan (from the CLI with the vconfig command).
Configuring the new interface with the right IP settings was then possible from the menu
of the boot image (Veeam Recovery media).
This actually works very well.
Thank you!
