Failed to load module [veeamblksnap] and precompiled module compatibility

Post by vitami »

Hi

I'm having issues with veeam agent on multiple rocky 9 servers, veeam agent v6.2.0.101 on Linux Kernel 5.14
Some servers work, some are not and I can't find the issue.
Failed to create volume snapshot
Failed to take volume snapshot
Failed to perform managed backup
Failed to load module [veeamblksnap].
Using https://www.veeam.com/kb2260
until "Checking precompiled module compatibility"

Neither the server that works nor the one that does not work list compatible installed modules:

Code: Select all

[root@srv02 ~]# uname -r
5.14.0-427.31.1.el9_4.x86_64
[root@srv02 ~]# find /lib/modules | egrep -i '(veeamsnap|blksnap)'
/lib/modules/5.14.0-427.13.1.el9_4.x86_64/extra/veeamblksnap.ko
/lib/modules/5.14.0-162.22.2.el9_1.x86_64/extra/veeamblksnap.ko
/lib/modules/5.14.0-162.6.1.el9_1.x86_64/extra/veeamblksnap.ko
/lib/modules/5.14.0-284.11.1.el9_2.x86_64/extra/veeamblksnap.ko
/lib/modules/5.14.0-362.18.1.el9_3.x86_64/extra/veeamblksnap.ko
/lib/modules/5.14.0-362.8.1.el9_3.x86_64/extra/veeamblksnap.ko
/lib/modules/5.14.0-70.13.1.el9_0.x86_64/extra/veeamblksnap.ko
/lib/modules/5.14.0-70.36.1.el9_0.x86_64/extra/veeamblksnap.ko
This is despite the kernel version being compatible with my agent version, according to https://www.veeam.com/kb2804

So my best guess is I'm misunderstanding something or overlooking the obious. The server veeam error log looks like this:

Code: Select all

Hello, as explained in the forum rules that were displayed in red font when you clicked New Topic, this is not a support forum for environment-specific or machine-specific issues.

Please work with our Customer Support team to see what's wrong with those few servers where the agent is unable to load the module. They will be more than happy to troubleshoot this for you, as they have dedicated resources and means to do this much more efficiently than guessing over forum post what the issue might.

And kindly follow the above-mentioned forum rules for your future contributions to this community, particularly as it comes to (not) posting debug log snippets.

I'm locking this thread now because it violates multiple forum rules at once.

Thank you
