Hi,
we need to avoid clients using all their mobile data volume because their scheduled backup job (to a SMB share) runs while connected via VPN.
The windows agent has options to detect metered connections and to not start scheduled jobs in that case, the Linux agent does not.
I recently learned that NetworkManager on Linux also provides an API to detect metered connections. So the Linux agent could have similar functionality, at least on distributions that use NetworkManager.
Would be very helpful to us.
Thanks!

Re: Feature Request - Network restrictions like on Windows Agent
Hello,
thank you for your request. Take your request as counted.
As a short term workaround I can suggest to block VPN access to the SMB share (gateway server depending on setup) via firewall. That's what customers do today also in some other situations with the Veeam Agent for Windows.
Best regards,
Hannes
