Hi all,
I have an external disk with backup files, created with Veeam Agent for Windows (Free Edition).
How can I restore those files with Veeam Agent for Linux (Free Edition) ?
I tried to import the backups with:
veeamconfig backup import --path /media/sdb2/xxx/backups.vbm.
Error message is:
Error: Importing backup [/media/sdb2/xxx/backups.vbm] has failed: Backup platform type is not supported.
Can I restore windows backups on linux ? If not: Is there any other way to read the .vbk/.vib files ?
Thank you
Uli

Re: how to restore backups from Veeam Windows with a Veeam Agent for Linux
Hello, Uli. You cannot restore a Windows backup on a Linux system. You can only read those backup file with Veeam Agent for Windows, or Veeam Backup & Replication. Thanks!

Re: how to restore backups from Veeam Windows with a Veeam Agent for Linux
Hi,
You can export the backup to vmdk or vhd(x) using windows agent, and try mounting it in linux
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
Here is a whitepaper (pdf attachment) that might be helpful.
Thanks
