Linux Agent 4.x much more slow compared to Windows Agent

Post by dmontagna »

Hi,

We have a virtualized (KVM) environment, where two VMs resides, both VMs run in the same physical host, same storage, same network, etc.. but backup performance is very different when running Linux Agent... data below:

Windows Agent - 370 MB/s
Linux Agent - 40 MB/s

Linux Agent 4.0.1 - Centos 7.8
Windows Agent 4.0.1 - Windows server 2016

Any reason for this slow performance? both VMs uses the Virt-IO driver for Networking

I tested the network performance from both VMs using iperf and the result is below:

linux - 1.8 Gbit/s average
windows - 2.4 Gbit/s average

Hi,

As I mentioned in my other post, please open a support case. We simply cannot troubleshoot such issues without seeing the logs.

Thanks!
