No Veeam Group created

Post by b1o »

Hello,

As mentionned in the user guide, it seems that a veeam group should be created during the installation,

I do not have this:
[root@VeeamBCK01 ~]# groups
root bin daemon sys adm disk Wheel

thanks,

Please run "grep veeam /etc/group" to see if it exists. The command groups lists the groups where the current user is a member off and not all groups.

Code: Select all

Print group memberships for each USERNAME or, if no USERNAME is specified, for the current process

OK,
thanks for your reply

# grep veeam /etc/group
veeam:x:490:

I just followed the user guide without going further...
but login as ROOT, launching groups command means that this "user root" is not in the veeam group, or as he has full privileges it does not have to be in.

Hi,
<...> or as he has full privileges it does not have to be in.
Not sure if that's a question, but I confirm that root user does not have to be in the veeam group due to the reason you've mentioned.

Thanks
