old backup files not being removed?

Post by craigfanman »

I have a few servers running the veeam linux agent, all set to keep backups for 28 days. looking through my backups now I realise some of them have just kept all files since I started like 3 months ago. Some servers only have last 28 days as expected. Any idea how I can debug this and make sure its removing backup files older than 28 days?

Hi,

I might need some clarification on this. Retention settings of Veeam Agent for Linux are based on the number of restore points, not days. Do you mean that you've specified "28" in all your jobs but some of them keep more than 28 files on the repository, or is it that some of the backup files are older than 28 days?

Thanks
