Redahat EL 5.x
We have some components in our ERP system running on RHEL 5.9 the we would like to backup using the veeam agent for linux.
I can see in the documentation of the release version of the veeam agent that RHEL 5 is not supported.
Does this mean that it won't work on 5.9 or that it works (could work?), but is unsupported?

Re: Redahat EL 5.x
Hi,
It means that it could work but is unsupported. It has not been tested, no list of known issues and resloutions has been created, no support can be provided.
Thanks

Re: how can install veeam agent for linux on redhat 4
Hi Babak,
Linux kernel 2.6.32 or later is required to install this solution. From the documentation, this means RHEL 6 - 7.
I'm afraid that version 4 isn't supported and I am not aware if somebody succeeded on doing this
Thanks
Mike

Keep in mind that RHEL 4 is already end of life since 2012 so it might be interesting to look for an upgrade.

Re: Redahat EL 5.x
Hello
I was unable to install the linux agent on a redhat 5.4.
I think there are incompatibilities on the versions below the redhat 6.
Has anyone succeeded in installing the agent on a redhat 5.X ?

Re: Redahat EL 5.x
UPDATE:
VAL won't work on RHEL 5, it's just impossible because the OS is significantly different from those that are supported, not to mention that veeamsnap requires kernel 2.6.32 or higher to function.
Thanks

[MERGED] Veeam agent Linux for Red Hat 5.X
Hi all,
In our IT infrastructure, there are some VMs with Red Hat 5.6 where I can not install the Linux agent.
After speaking with technical support, they told me this version is not supported by Veeam Agent for Linux
Could anyone tell me if they will develop the agent for this Linux release?
Anyone else with this problem?
Thank you.

Hi,
RH 5 will reach its End of Production Phase 3 on March 31st, so there is not much sense in developing a separate build for it.
Thanks

Hi Baber,
it is not possible to install on RHCL 4, even RHCL 5 is not supported because of the OS architecture.
