ReFS repo supported?
Hi,
are the ReFS features for fast synthetic full backup supported with the Linux client?
I have a disk with 5 TB of data to backup - after the number of restore points are reached the "Performing full backup file merge" run takes days. :-/
Many thanks
Joern

Re: ReFS repo supported?
Are you backing up via VBR repository or directly to the volume?

Re: ReFS repo supported?
via VBR server where I could connect a Windows server with ReFS as a repository. Currently it's a Linux repo with ZFS (and Ceph in the backend).

Re: ReFS repo supported?
Workaround question: Is it possible to trigger a full backup instead of forever incremental backups?

Re: ReFS repo supported?
Hi,
Yes, ReFS is supported in this case.
Currently there is no standalone full in VAL. Intermediate full is on our roadmap of vNext features though.
Thank you.

Hi,
ReFS even with fast clone? Because in the known issues you write:
Fast clone is not supported for ReFS repositories
Thank you.

Re: ReFS repo supported?
Ok. Will Fast clone supported in the future?
Or (when available) backup to a cloud connect gateway with attached ReFS should fix my problem, correct?

Re: ReFS repo supported?
Hi, sorry for the delay. I apologize for the misleading info, my bad. So, yes, you're right - FastClone is not currently supported for ReFS. Sending backup to CC won't fix that either due to the fact that with current design Agent has to be aware of the target repository nature in order to utilize its (repo's) special features. We already have plans to address this one and other related problems in future releases.
Thanks
Thanks
