Hi,

Yes, you can mount the A-backup onto the B-server using Linux Agent.

Thanks!

Hi,
I have the same doubt. I don't know if I understand correctly. In theory should I do this?

1. From machine A I run the veeamconfig backup list --all command and locate the backup ID that interests me
2. From machine B I mount the image with the veeamconfig backup mount --id <backup_id> --mountdir <path> command where the <backup_id> is the backup ID taken from machine A

Correct?

Thank you so much

Right. Alternatively, you can use UI to import and mount backups.

Thank!

When I try that :

on machine A:

[root@esxsan75t1 ~]# veeamconfig backup list --all
Job name Backup ID Repository Created at
Agent Backup Linux DMZ Forum - esxsan75t1 {a72e78b8-82be-496f-b509-b9ec9a8f582b} [xxxxx.yyyy.ru.nl] CIFS-SOBR-Gym-DMZ 2021-11-11 19:06

on machine B :

[root@esxsan75t2 ~]# veeamconfig backup mount --id a72e78b8-82be-496f-b509-b9ec9a8f582b --mountdir /mnt/backup
Backup {a72e78b8-82be-496f-b509-b9ec9a8f582b} was not found.

What am I doing wrong here ?

Also: How would I do statement 1. if machine A is no longer active, or available at all ?

In order to mount a backup file on another location/server, the server needs access to the file. Can u clarify your current setup? If you have VBR in place, you can also use VBR to do the restores to a different location.

Additional information :

We use VBR server (v11) with Protection Group (using 'Computers with pre-installed agents') with currently 2 Linux agents in there; both using the same job definition, so pointing to 1 shared repo.

What we would like to see working if in case node 1 goes down, node 2 is able to access the data that was backupped before by node 1

If you go to node2 and run 'veeam' and press 'R' (restore), and then press 'I' (Import) and select your VBR server then you'll see all available backups.

Thanks!

Thanks.

In that scenario, on node 2 after import (using credentials from node 1 to connect to VBR) will it see only the data written into that repository from node 1, or all data in there (from other nodes) ?

You will be able to see all backups from all machines that send backups there.

Thanks!
