Retention period

Can anyone tell me how to set the retention period, like how you can with the Windows version? I have some incremental backups going back to 1/3 for one of my servers, but the only full backup I still have was from today, January 17th. I don't want anything older than one week.

Hi,

Unlike VAW, VAL retention works the same way as in VBR - it represents number of points, not days. Set the retention number to [times the job runs a day] * [number of days]. Also, would you elaborate on:

Do you have two separate backup chains (two full backups)?

No, I only have one full chain.

I also have another server that has incremental backups going back to December. But only one full backup, which was made yesterday.

Just to make sure that we're on the same page - Veeam Agent for Linux is supposed to create a chain that has full backup in the beginning with incremental going forward in time, not vice versa. In other words, your full backup file (.vbk) is supposed to be the oldest file in the chain. The chain that you've described looks like reverse incremental which is impossible for Agents.

Ok, that's a full backup, but where are the other incrementals going back that you've mentioned? Sorry, but I just cannot get how it is possible that you have incremental backups going back, but the only full that you have is from January 17th, it is supposed to be the other way around - full being the oldest part of the chain with incrementals getting appended to it.
