Truenas Scale with Agent for Linux?

Post by Novell2 »

Hi Veeam Fans, I want to save a small TrueNAS Scale Box. Is it possible to do that with latest Agent for Linux version?
Truenas Scale is based on debian Linux. Who has experience with that?
Thanks, have a good week!
Best regards

Hi,

In theory that could work with Linux Agent snapshot-less backup mode.

Since such approach is not officially supported, I would suggest using NAS backup instead.

Thanks!

[MERGED] TrueNas Scale with Agent for Linux

Post by Novell2 »

Hello everyone,
for my new home storage with TrueNAS Scale I would like to backup the most important OS disks and iSCSI share. Veeam provides this file veeam-release-deb_1.0.9_amd64.deb. How can this be installed on the Truenas Scale, it should be Debian based? Who has done this before, and is it even possible? I would be very grateful for detailed installation help!
Thank you very much and have a good week and a nice weekend!
Greetings

Hello @Novell2

You can install Veeam agent deb packages offline via following User Guides:

In case you can install with kernel module: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... ver=60#deb
In case you can install only nosnap agent: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... ver=60#deb
Repository: https://repository.veeam.com/backup/lin ... l/veeam/v/

Other method would be to backup data directly from file share: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
