VA for AIX license consumption

Post by philfreund »

When does VA for AIX consume a license? At install, when a job is registered against a VBR repository, or something else? I currently have 11 AIX servers setup to use VBR repositories but only three of those show in the licensing on either the VBR console or in Enterprise Manager. All but one of them have at least one job scheduled and running daily.

Hi,

That is, 10 out of 11 agents have at least one job configured to send backups to VBR on a daily basis, and all 10 jobs has run at least once. At the same time only 3 (three) agents are shown in the licensing table on VBR.

Is that correct?

Thanks!

Yes. The eleventh server is configured and has a job which is not scheduled. That job was started manually one time.

Regarding the incorrect license counters being displayed kindly contact our support team.
As for retries after a manual job stop - this is still being investigated.

Thank you!
