VAL Backup with Version 5.0.2.4627 fails onLinux Kernel 4.18.0-425.10.1.el8_7.x86_64
Hello everyone and welcome from my side,
it is my first post here in the forum.
Today we have installed on Updates on our Linux Server.
Now we are using RHEL 8.7 with Kernel 4.18.0-425.10.1.el8_7.x86_64.
After this updates my VAL Job stuck at "Create Volume Snapshot".
I already know the list with the supportet kernel versions: (https://www.veeam.com/kb2804)
The real bad point about this is, that in this time, where Veeam try to "Create the Volume Snapshot", the system is freeze and is not reachable.
The solution is to reboot the VM/Server.
Have someone else problems with the new Kernel Version 4.18.0-425.10.1.el8_7.x86_64 and VAL Version 5.0.2.4627?
My support Case is: #05825289
Thanks.
Best regards
Philipp

Thanks

Hi!
Where did you obtained the 5.0.2.4627 version from? I could not find it anywhere for download and my support ticked opened with Veeam was closed because of lack of personel.
Thank you!

Hi Lucian
Veeam Agent 5.0.2.4627 is released as a private fix. Which means, you need to have an active maintenance contract to get them.
But good news: Our upcoming version of Veeam Agent for Linux v6 will be publicly available to all customers, including free and community edition users.
You may register for the GA Launch Event next week:
